Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to showing our love for others. It’s the perfect day to tell you how much I care about and appreciate you! Each one of you motivate me by your comments, feedback, success stories and for being a part of my life!

It’s also a great day to love yourself! I don’t want to quote Miley Cyrus, but you CAN “buy yourself flowers!” rather than wait for someone else to send them to you. You’re never alone when you learn to appreciate what an amazing person looks back at you in the mirror every day.

This is also a great day for random acts of kindness, especially for those who may feel “alone” today! Imagine the impact of bringing special treats for everyone in the office, giving one of those “children Valentine cards” to people you care about. Dropping off blankets to the homeless, taking sugarless candy or flowers to a nursing home, donating to a cause you believe in or being a little more patient, caring and understanding today.

For those of you in the Recruiting or Talent Acquisition Professions, you spend your life changing lives for the better DAILY. You are the “heartbeat” of your company and I want to thank you for the work you do to help others advance in their career. But what about those candidates you don’t place or hire? A kind word from you can have a tremendous impact on their self-confidence and self-worth.
Today’s a great day to slow down long enough to show love, appreciation and gratitude for the special people in our lives. Reach out today to a friend, teacher or coach who impacted your life.

Reach out to someone in the medical profession who helped you through a health crisis. What about the people who deliver your newspaper, pick up you garbage or perform other tasks for you?
This world would be a much better place if we all slowed down long enough to do one random act of kindness each day. And….there is no better time to start than on Valentine’s Day! I wish you a day filled with love, happiness and kindness. I “love” that you read my post – thank you!
