The Staffing and Recruiting Profession continues to change and as a result it is critical for you to consistently adjust the way you interact with prospective candidates and clients.

Candidates know they are in the drivers’ seat, they also know you can not ask them their current salary (because of Salary Ban Laws in many States) AND candidates in high demand will often refuse to fill out your paperwork or send you their resume or CV. They also continue to feel that we only career about filling jobs vs. what is most important to them.

As a result, stop pitching jobs and instead suggest a conversation to discuss what they want to do next in their career. When it comes to salary, you can ask what salary range they prefer and must be willing to accept their LinkedIn Profile as a starting place to develop rapport and trust. Be willing to conduct interviews virtually and make whatever other adjustments in your standard operating procedures necessary to represent the BEST talent.

Our clients do not want us to “post and pray”, they want us to recruit passive candidates which represent 85% of the total workforce. Please also request performance objections when writing job orders, contracts, or temp assignments. That shows you how your candidates will be evaluated and will help the candidates you place become engaged and retained. You will often see a disconnect between the list of skills requested and how your candidates will be evaluated. This helps you fine tune your search from the beginning.

Your clients also have needs for direct hires as well as contractors or temporary workers. If you are not providing both, your clients are utilizing your competitors. Of, you may offer both, but one segment is not flourishing – this training was also created for you!

We are releasing two new tutors this month: Add Direct Hire and Add Flexible Staffing that show you step by step how to add another segment of our Profession to your business model. Mention our No BS Newsletter and you will receive a 25% discount if you purchase prior to the launch late this month.

If you have questions and would like to talk to one of our experts, please call Jodi Svetich at 219.613.7367. You won’t regret talking to her, because she will focus 100% of your priorities and current challenges. We would love to help you add another lucrative segment to your business and wish you continued success.
