Is TODAY your time to “POP”? When making popcorn, I always find it interesting that all the kernels are put in the same pot, same oil and over the same heat. However, some kernels pop faster than others, some kernels never pop and others if left too long in one place, burn and are thrown away.
What it you decided on this special calendar day of 2.22.22 that this is the day you POP out of your comfort zone, set higher goals, surround yourself with successful people and take the word “can’t” out of your vocabulary? If you respond “yes” to these suggestions, this will become a very memorable day in your life!
Think of other people who are in your same profession but are much more successful than you. In most cases, they are not smarter, more educated, luckier or better looking than you. They just made a conscious decision to set and attain loftier goals.
That may sound simple, but any change always starts between your ears. If you think you CAN do something, or think you CAN’T do something – you are absolutely right! If you stay in the same place too long, your career can “crash and burn” and your competition will might run right over you!
If you are caught somewhere between where you are and where you want to be, change is the only way to get there. It’s also critical that you KNOW who you want to be. Too often life is so busy that you might not take time to plan out your life and career. If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there!
Case in point, write down how old you were 10 years ago. Then write down how old you’ll be in 10 years. Think of how fast the last 10 years flew by! You don’t want to be in the same place you are today, 10 years from now filled with “coulda, shoulda, woulda” regrets.
Before this historic date is over, write down WHO you want to be by the end of this year? In three years? In five years? Then write down what steps you need to take to achieve or surpass your goals. I can’t even imagine what you will be able to achieve when you POP out of your comfort zone!
Would love to hear your story of how you managed to POP out of your comfort zone in the comments below. Happy Two’s Day!
