BEST USE OF YOUR TIME

TWELVE TRANSFORMATIONAL TIPS #2 of 12: BEST USE OF YOUR TIME

As a result of Tip #1, hopefully today your ten non-negotiable goals for 2023, with five dated action items are posted where you work.  If not, there’s still time to get them done.

TIP #2 focuses on the best use of your valuable time.  Notice I didn’t ask you what you enjoy doing most, or what you do most of the time.  The question is “What is the BEST use of your time?” 20% of what you do provides you with 80% of your results.  So - what represents your 20%?  If you’re not sure, conduct a time study for the next 10 days.  Write down everything you do on a list, when you do something more than once, just put a check mark after the task.  At the end of 10 days, prioritize the list by what tasks provide you with the greatest results.

You might discover that you are spending most of your time doing things that don’t provide you with results.  The top ten items represent the 20% that provides you with 80% of your results.  They key is to do more of those tasks each month to consistently improve your results.

Next, review the last ten items on the list.  If possible, delegate those tasks to someone else, use resources like FIVERR or UPWORK, or do them before or after your normal working hours.

Put a note on your computer, phone, and desk which reads “Is this Best use of your Time?” One example of a time waster and distractor can be email. Too often email represent the priorities of others and not yours.  Segment your day and determine when you will complete specific actions.  We answer email early am, mid-day and at the end of the day.  We also explain to everyone how this process benefits them.  If any of my clients needs to reach me, they know they can call and tell whoever answers the phone to interrupt me.

If you are an Executive, Entrepreneur or in Management you are constantly pulled if different directions with conflicting priorities.  One of those priorities could be training and if you haven’t updated your training since 2020 chances are it’s outdated.   Click on the link below and set up a quick call with one of our experts to discuss your challenges and priorities.  We may be your solution or not, but you will benefit by the call because they will focus on what’s most important to you and either way, we’ll remain friends.  We will also extend a 25% discount through 12/30/22 https://calendly.com/good-as-gold/30-minute-discussion-afs-adh
